The vision that the Lord gave Pastor Holmes is "Touching Hearts and Changing Lives by the Power of His Word" (Luke 4:18-19).
This vision was birthed by the Spirit's direction of observing Christ's earthly ministry. Jesus always ministered to the broken and bruised. So much so, He was accused of being friends of publicans and sinners (Matthew 11:19). Since Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost, we can only follow in His footsteps. The Church is God's rescue mission, so therefore we can do no less than to reach out to the lost and also the so-called dregs of life. For sin has stained us all. There is none righteous no not one for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
Jesus' love is our motivation as we try to reach those who have been ensnared by various addictions, those seeking meaning and purpose for their lives and those burdened by the weight and guilt of sin. We believe that the total depravity of humanity has caused individuals to make unwise choices along life's journey, which in turn has caused some insurmountable problems for them. And there is only one solution to life's issues and that is the Word of God.
The Word of God is the source of TRUTH that will set men free, because it leads one into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, the only Begotten of the Father. We believe that since Christ died for all, every life has extreme value to God. And if every life has value, we then must do all that we can to reach every person with the gospel of Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).
